Crafted with dependable solid hardwood, the bunk bed features clean lines, flat moldings, and slatted and paneled headboards and footboards finished in a light, golden honey pine that really highlights the wood's natural grain and works well with both boys and girls bedding. Mission-style slats and safety rails line the top bunk, and the included ladder is finished in a coordinating shade.

bunks bed are nice, but a head board was damaged. when the new part came in it was the wrong one. Now we have had this nice bunk bed in pices for a most a month. Replacement parts are taking way too long.

The bunk beds are nice and seem sturdy however we did have some problems. There were problems with the shipping company (Pilot) mixing up our phone number so we were not contacted to schedule a drop off time. Only after contacting them did I find this out. They had my email on file so I'm not sure why they didn't contact me via email when the phone number wasn't right. The product was damaged in shipping but was conveniently hidden from my view when it was dropped off and I had to sign for it. Then half way through putting the bunk bed together we discovered the end boards for the top bunk were missing their pre-drilled holes. It was a lot of extra work to make sure the holes were exactly even so the bed laid flat and that they were in the right spot so it fit together properly. I called and explained what had happened and was given a $50 refund which helped. However, we paid over [$] for this so that's not even a 10% discount for the damage it had and extra work we had to put in.

The bed itself was almost very good. One piece is an inch longer that it is supposed to be (there are two supposedly identical pieces, but one is longer that the other so when installed it is significantly bowed).
The other shortcoming is the instructions which are poor at best. They identify several items as identical but they are not identical and this is only discovered after several pieces have been assembled and you discover that the "identical" pieces differ and that one that was installed needs to be removed and replaced, which necessitates taking the whole bed apart and starting over. A little marking and instructions would be helpful. There were also several extra pieces included which caused confusion until I figured out that they were part of an extra ladder which had not been ordered (and which was not fully included - just the cross peices were included), so they were useless and confusing. I have seen much better KD packaging and instructions.

I purchased the product and found out by calling hayneedle 2 weeks later that the items were all out of stock.
