My 12-year-old daughter LOVES this bed. It's so pretty, such good quality. So sturdy! Plus, with the drawers and the desk built right in, the loft bed makes her small bedroom seem much larger! I love this product so much that I'm buying another for my 10-year-old daughter. I know they will use these beds for years--into college and possibly beyond!

The only fly in the ointment (and it is a very small fly) is that it is very difficult to put together and the instructions are terrible. I ended up having to hire a handyman to do it for me--and even with his assistant, it took them almost three hours. His cost added another $100 to the price of the bed. But it is worth it. Just be aware that if you're not a whiz with tools or super strong (those pieces are SOLID and HEAVY!!) you will need to hire someone to help.

Researched hundreds of loft-style beds for our 5 year old daughter who has a smallish room. Quality was our first priority, but we needed to keep within a reasonable budget and find something that wouldn't overpower her room. After poking around and reading tons of customer reviews, we settled on the Bolton Cooley Loft Bed... and couldn't be happier! Solid wood, nice details and finish, exactly what we were looking for. Fabrication wasn't too difficult, made easier having two of us assembling it. Included 3 of the special tools needed for putting it together, which came in handy so my husband and I could work tightening screws simultaneously. No extra tools required except a Phillips screwdriver (we used a screw gun which made it even easier!) In all, it took about 3 hours from start to finish, including removing her current bed and vacuuming up all the dust bunnies underneath. One note: Have a damp rag ready to wipe everything down before you begin to assemble - when it came out of the boxes, the pieces were a bit dusty, probably from the warehouse. We ultimately chose to purchase from another website because they listed the bed at one of the lowest prices available, [...]This allowed us to spend a little more on a nicer mattress - we got a Sealey Memory Foam which is super comfy so far. We also ordered the double-pocket thingy to hang from the side which will be nice for storing books while up on the loft. I chose to post a review here on this site even though I did not ultimately purchase from it because I was so thrilled with this bed. After all my research, I wanted to pass along my experience to others out there like me looking and shopping around :)
