1. Separate but equal, we say. We have twin over full bunk beds for boys, others designed to please girls, and neutral bunkbed styles that put the whole gender issue to bed.
2. Most boys are indistinguishable from chimps. They climb, dangle, leap, and experiment from the heady heights of their bunk beds. A boys bunk bed in a neutral or dark wood color handles all that wear and tear without showing it. Wood looks great as it wears and ages, and it's the easiest material to touch up.
