Overall I'm very happy with this product. I have limited space and this bunk bed is a good size.
I purchased a standard full and twin size mattresses which fit perfectly in the bed. I was expecting them to be too tight fitting but there was extra room to move the mattresses. This makes it easier for making the beds in the morning.
It took me about 2 hours to assemble the bed and it was easy to do. I even had my ten year old help me. I did make a few mistakes but I just went back to the instructions and was able to fix them. It helped that the parts were numbered and the drawings were clearly drawn. After I assembled the bed I realized that I'm going to have to unassemble and reassemble it. So I would save the tools, instructions and maybe the box that came with the bed.
The bed does squeak a little but I think that's normal with any bunk bed. The bed is almost all metal except for a 4 small pieces of plastic tubing on the top bed. It's about 3 inches in length and elbow shaped. I'm not sure why these are the only plastic parts. It doesn't take away from the bed design (no one can tell) but the product doesn't match the photo on the website. The photo doesn't show this detail but there should one that matches the product.
I would buy this bed again and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Several parts were bent making it difficult to assemble. The instructions were easy to follow if the parts would "fit" together more easily. It was impossible to get two of the bolts in AT ALL because the holes did not line up. I hope the unit is still safe for my grandchildren. This is for a guest room for my grandchildren so it is not used on a regular basis. It is only ok for the price.

Comments about Ameriwood Clarkston Twin over Full Bunk Bed:
I purchased the Clarkson Twin bunk bed for my 8 year old son; he was very excited to tell his peers about the bunk beds. They enjoyed every minute of the Clarkston Twin-over-Full Bunk Bed. However, it is an ideal space-saver for a small size room.
