Constructed of solid hardwood, and using mortise and tenon construction with 26 steel reinforced points, this set is not only eye-catching, but extremely safe and durable as well. Each piece is finished using an in-depth five-step finishing process that guarantees quality of color through years of use. This piece is available in your choice of three fantastic finishes: white, antique walnut, and caramel latte.
Set comes complete with two 14 piece slat kits as well as guard rails. You also have the option of purchasing a trundle in the event of sleepovers or other overnight guests, or storage drawers to better keep clutter at bay. Overall dimensions for this set measure 103L x 58.5W x 69H inches.
We take your family's safety seriously. That's why all of our bunk beds come with a bunkie board, slat pack, or metal grid support system. These provide complete mattress support and secure the mattress within the bunk bed frame. Please note: Bunk beds and loft beds are only to be used by children 6 years of age or older.

Founded in 1983 as Watercraft, Inc., Atlantic Furniture started as a manufacturer of pine waterbed frames. Since then, the Springfield, Mass.-based company has expanded to Fontana, Calif. Atlantic's Unique Five-Step Finishing Process
Each product in the entire line is finished with a high-build, five-step finishing process. After a thorough sanding, a wipe-on sealer is applied, followed by a tinted sealer to even the grain and color of the wood. Additional sanding prepares the surface for the first base color coat, more sanding, and a second base color coat. After a final sanding, the finish coat is applied. This process produces a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years.

I love this bed! The design, the color (caramel latte to match dresser/armoire set), the feel of it being safe for my little ones (i.e. stairs vs ladder). My girls are very excited about it as well and wanted to sleep in it the first night, but no mattresses. The stairs are slippery, so I'll have to get some slip resistant material to put on there. My husband put it together and he said he did better just looking at the pics, rather than trying to understand the actual instructions. It was time-consuming, but manageable. The ordering process was pretty smooth and delivery was good (although I'm not a fan of "curbside delivery" with a product this large/heavy and with several boxes). The driver and I (yes I carried boxes too) did bring them into the house, so he was great! Mattresses were delivered today, so my girls can finally sleep in their new beds. Oh, there was a small defect in one or two pieces of the wood, but my husband was able to work around it. Wish, though, that items with quality issues would not be sent to customers. It could be a hassle, but luckily this time it wasn't.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this unit, but there were some problems. The "good" is that all the hardware was there, all the pre-drilled holes were in the proper place (with one exception), and everything was finished very nicely. I think that the overall quality of the construction and I think it'll survive for many years of use from my two boys.
The "bad" consists on one issue with the bed itself and one with delivery. The side safety rail for top of the stairway wasn't quite wide enough. I had to notch the very top step by about 1/8" to get it to fit. Nothing major for me, but might be for others.
The second "bad" issue was with the shipping. The boxes that this bed arrived in looked like they'd been dropped from a helicopter onto my driveway! Each box was very, VERY badly beaten-up, VERY dirty, and otherwise mangled. Luckily for us, there was damage with only one piece of the bed: the lower stairway.
I will add the a quick call to simplybunkbeds.com secured us a replacement in short order with no questions asked - very nice!
Overall, I'd recommend this bed and this company.

I have been hugely impressed with this bunk. Honestly, it looks so much better in person than it does on the web. Sturdy, well made, and easy (well, for my engineer husband at least!) to put together. Also like how the side railings on top are nice and high. Shipping was fast and we weren't hassled at all about getting another headboard for the bottom bunk when ours arrived damaged.

Although when 17 boxes arrived (due to ordering 2 bunkbeds)- it was overwhelming; the end results are perfect. The grand children (3 and 6)are very happy with their new beds and are already planning sleep overs with their friends.
Assembly by ourselves was daunting but each bunkbed was completed within 2 hours. If I had to change anything - I should have ordered the beds separately and a couple of weeks apart for less confusion.
The products are perfect - one set with the stairs and one set with the ladder. Thank you.

I purchased the Columbia Twin over Full Stairway Bunk Bed for my 4 grandchildren. One on top, two in the full bed and one on the Trundle. Only complaint is the tiny, tiny wheels on the trundle which just sink into the carpet and do not allow the trundle to actually pull out easily. I am sure it would work OK on a hardwood floor. My handyman put it together in about 4 hours, not really hard, just lots of parts...delivered in 9 boxes. Delivery guy called to come early so he actually dollied it up to the garage.
We really love how safe the top area is with the total enclosure of the top bunk...they love the steps, but we will put some gripper strips on these due to begin slippery with socked feet. The princess sheets are on and ready to go!

We've been looking into getting a bunk/loft set for our boys for several months. It's hard to find ones that have drawers which are also affordable and sturdy. This definitely had both. The wood is heavy and hefty feeling. The staining and surface of the Antique Walnut is very nice and gives an apperance of quality. Again, the bed is heavy, the stairs themselves were a bear to get upstairs. When finally put together it is totally unmovable, due to its weight and how solid it is. It doesn't even creek when my son or I get on the bunks because of how solid it is. Assembly is straight forward, but takes a little time and muscle. Very solid parts.
Only wish the upper bunk had a little higher railing and the small rail next to the stairs needs one more angle bracket for bracing. Also, don't waste money on box springs. The frames are pretty tall and there are plenty of slats for support, especially for kids. The stairs are quite steep so you may want to place your own stair traction or padding.
Overally, very impressed with the quality and just what we were looking for. Very highly recommended.
Shipping was only 2 weeks. Had few missing screws and stripped areas in the drawers, but nothing unfixable or major.
