About Atlantic Furniture
Founded in 1983 as Watercraft, Inc., Atlantic Furniture started as a manufacturer of pine waterbed frames. Since then, the Springfield, Mass.-based company has expanded to Fontana, Calif. The company has moved away from the use of pine and now specializes in imported furniture made of the wood of rubber trees.
The Benefits of Eco-Friendly Rubberwood
Prized as an environmentally friendly wood, rubberwood makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle. The trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings. In the past, felled rubber trees were either burned on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing, or latex curing. Now the wood is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes.
Atlantic's Unique Five-Step Finishing Process
Each product in the entire line is finished with a high-build, five-step finishing process. After a thorough sanding, a wipe-on sealer is applied, followed by a tinted sealer to even the grain and color of the wood. Additional sanding prepares the surface for the first base color coat, more sanding, and a second base color coat. After a final sanding, the finish coat is applied. This process produces a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years.

My 2 daughters are 6 &5 and they have to share a small 10x10 bedroom. i was looking for bunkbeds as a spacesaver and came across this one. I was alittle skeptical at first buying over the internet but the price was too hard to pass up so I went ahead and ordered it. [...] My husband put it together in less than 2 hours and he said the instructions were so thorough it made it so easy for him. My main concern when looking for bunkbeds was that the bottom bunk wouldn't be high enough for my daughter to sit up without bumping her head on the top bunk. This bed is so perfect that even I could sit up in the bed without bumping my head on the top bunk! There is so much room between the 2 beds it's incredible. The bed itself it very sturdy, the stairs are strong and the top bunk is very secure. My daughters love the bed and are very happy with it and so am I!! I would without a doubt recommend this bed to anyone looking for a safe, sturdy, spacious bunkbed at an affordable price.

i JUST RECEIVED THIS PRODUCT AND PUT IT TOGETHER. i AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE WOOD ... SOLID AND HEAVY.. IN ADDITION ALL THE HARDWARE FIT PERFECTLY MAKING IT EASY TO PUT TOGETHER.. BE SURE TO ONLY USE NO MORE THAN AN 8 INCH HIGH MATTRESS ON THE TOP BUNK, OTHERWISE THE MATTRESS BECOMES TOO HIGH FOR THE SIDE RAILS.... AND YOU MIGHT FIND A KID ON THE FLOOR... OUUCH!

I was leary about purchasing such a large peice of furniture from the internet. The reviews of Atlantic Furniture were good, so we took a change.
So glad we did! The bed is sturdy, hard woods. We ordered it in white and the finish is near perfect. Assembly was quick and easy. My daughter is in love with her new bed.

[...]All the parts are solid and well-made, and assembly went quickly. However, the tabs on the bed rails did not fit into the slots of the headboard and had to be planed by hand in order to make them fit properly (see photo). If we hadn't had the tools or know-how to make this modification, I'm not sure how we would have assembled it. Otherwise, the bed has been up for a couple of weeks now, and the kids love it!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My daughter loves her new bunk bed . She sleeps on the top and a friend on the bottom. When you are on either the top or bottom bunk you can't feel the slats! This was the cheapest bed we could find.[...]It took me 2 hours to put it up. I got my wife when we needed to put it into bunk bed position. Overall, Its an awesome bed!
